I turned xx on Sat. I always looked forward to my birthday, such a (big) kid I am. A birthday is always a time to reflect on the years that's passed and life so far. I'm happy and settled at this point in my life. Happy with my achievements, looking forward to the future which holds (hopefully) many opportunities, the everyday pleasures (ahem) of my lovely Kevin, ah life is good! And he did made this lovely card. Gracias babe.
Took Fri off in anticipation of a shopping spree and trying out a new restaurant. As predicted, I woke up with a tummy upset. Of all days… After my tummy stabilised itself, we went into town. Would you believe I didn’t buy a thing?
We later went for a drive to Rugby. In TK Maxx, I got a lovely red leather Jane Shilton handbag as a pressie from Kevin. Gracias again. He also gave me a huge red dragon soft toy, which I fell in love with. It’s now draped on top of the door.
We paid a visit to our favourite playground to check on this beautiful great crested grebe. She was sitting majestically on her nest. It will take 27 - 29 days for the eggs to be hatched. I’m counting the days.
On a cold, rainy Sunday, it was Sports Relief day. I contributed to the event by keeping my footsies warm in this red socks. Sports Relief is a charity event which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries. At the heart of the campaign is the Sport Relief Mile. Congratulations to CK for doing the Sports Mile.
On St. Patrick’s Day, I brought a gooey chocolate cake smothered in chocolate sprinkles and cream for my colleagues. We’d a good time demolishing it. Sorry, no Guinness involved :-)
It was also a double celebration cos I’d completed the Sivanandan Collection. It took me 2 years 9 mths and 15 days to catalogue and classify 8843 records which is equivalent to 263 records a month. A job well-done if you don’t mind me saying. Now I’m officially a member of the elite DS team providing c__p class/call numbers. Told my manager my professional integrity’s thrown out of the windows. But, I’ll grit my teeth and plod on.
Also wishing a Very Happy Birthday to Zetty. Hoped you too had a great time.
