The anticipated snow fall missed the Midlands by miles. I was so envious when I watched the snow covering Scotland and the north-east England. Never mind. It's still early January.
And the weather today was bright wintry sunshine. In the garden, I planted some cloves of garlic that CC gave me last year. It was already sprouting in its bag. We're having a go to see who grew the biggest bulb. Not me I guess cos I planted it too late. Actually, I forgot.
Today is Epiphany, the 12th day after Xmas and marks the end of Xmas festivities. It is also the day when all the Xmas decorations are cleared and stored away for the next celebration. Since I was still on holiday, I'd taken mine much earlier. The casa looks quite bare.
We checked out our favourite playground in the afternoon. Since it was getting dark and with the temperature plummeting, the occupants were about to wind down. There wasn't much activity except for these delightful ducks doing a synchronised ring a ring of roses while feeding. They kept on going round and round. I guess they must have found a cache of food underneath the waters.

Yesterday we went for a drive to Rugby. Kevin wanted to test out Benzy which seems to be having problems. Since I was off work, Benzy has not been out that much. Even one of our neighbours asked Kevin for assistance when her battery was down. Luckily, he has this portable power station which do away with cables. Presto, her car was purring again.
In Rugby, we checked out one of the retail parks. Big mistake!!! In TK Maxx, I couldn't resist a Bulaggi golden leopard-printed tote which was soo cheap that I just had to have it. I know it's over the top but its fun. However, I did say NO to a lovely DKNY top cos need to save £££ for the hairdresser. Choices, choices...
Looking forward to start work tomorrow. It will be fun to see what my colleagues have been up to when they are/I am away. I hoped no one's caught the Norovirus, the winter vomiting bug. It was in the local news that 42 delegates attending a conference in the university were infected. And I somehow managed to catch it last week. There was even a health warning in the news that those who caught the virus should just stay at home. I'm glad I did. Thankfully, Kevin managed to be virus-free.
