A New Year A New Start

Happy 2008. May 2008 be the year I get to do what I want to do : Restart my driving lessons, polish up my Mandarin and Welsh, lose weight, join a reading group, continue my ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) tutorials...Is that too much to ask? I'll be very happy if I could stick to one, preferably the weight :-).

Not a good start to 2008 though. I'm suppose to start work today but I'd to extend my break till next week. Last Sun, I was feeling a bit green and woozy. Dios, something's in my system. I could barely get out of bed the next 2 days. I didn't want to call in sick so decided to take the next 3 days as my holiday. Instead with a bang, I began 2008, a washout. Wonder what's next?

Anyway, I did stay up to watch Take That's countdown to 2008. Fireworks and rockets blasted around our quiet cul-de-sac at midnight. Jesus!!! Shouldn't these people warned us first!!!The next morn soothe my pounding headache watching the new year's day concert from Vienna. The Vienna Philharmonic performed their traditional show at the beautiful Golden Concert Hall of the Musikverein featuring the music of the Strauss dynasty. It was really, really good.

Today, feeling a bit upbeat after a long lie-in, decided to brave the Arena. Surprisingly, many people have also decided not to be at work today. Schools are also closed until next week. The sales are still on but the price slash are still unfavourable to us. We window shopped in M&S, Boots and Borders and bought groceries in Tesco. We did go overboard with the discounted Xmas nibbles at Tesco. In fact, we'd a whole cupboard of unopened Xmas foodstuff. Just remembered, we'd 2 Xmas puddings that we bought in 2006, still in its box. Crazy huh???

The weatherman is predicting wintry conditions for tomorrow. Yaay...I hoped it snowed hard and since I'm off work, I could build a snowman. Lovely...now that's a good start for 2008.

Also tomorrow is the FIRST anniversary of this blog. My baby has come a long way. Why did I blog? Not many people know of my blog. Only the very few selected and p'haps those who somehow chance upon it. It's a blip into my very simple, ordinary life. I'm trying my very best to make this world a better place, enjoying everything and thanking what Allah has given me.

Congratulations to my niece, Emil, for getting 5A's. And to Eriq, do sort your life out. Life's too short to be ignorant. I'm losing the plot here...
