The Earth is most sacred of all, for it is the very ground of our being. To look at the earth as a whole reminds us that we are all connected. Our most sacred commitment is to take care of the earth, and that means all living things. Sacredness is not about religion or belief but is one's love for Mother Earth, the miracle of life. Quote from Sacred Spaces 2007.
We went early to our new playground, the heron nesting island at Coombe Abbey Country Park. It was a lovely morning and the sun was were we wanted it to be. Took lots of photographs. I remembered to bring my binoculars. Saw this lovely nest of cormorants on the tallest tree top. What a view.
There was a bird-feeder by the hide. A mallard, squirrels, tits, chaffinches, robins and a brown rat (!) taking turns to feed. The antics of the squirrels were hillarious.
On our way home we found that the traffic was diverted from its normal route. It was the Heineken Cup semi-final tie between London Wasps and Northampton Saints at the Ricoh Arena. We had to make a longer drive home. Let's hope no one's nicked our parking space. Wasps won 30 : 13.
Finally we would like to say congratulations to Mark and Annette on their newly announced engagement. Well done guys, and about time too.
