Angels and Demons

In Howard’s thrilling follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, expert symbologist Langdon pursues ancient clues amongst the religious and artistic paraphernalia on a thrilling hunt through Rome to find the 4 Cardinals kidnapped by the deadly secret society, the Illuminati. With the Cardinals’ lives on the line and the Camerlengo desperate for help, Langdon embarks on a non-stop, action-packed race through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs and the most secretive vault on earth.

I was able to sit still through out the whole movie, unlike the Da Vinci Code. It was more intense and the ending caught me by surprise. I think it did put the Vatican in a different light than before, a much more positive one. No excuse now, I better start reading the book. I bought it last year to read on the train on my way for KS’s wedding in Glasgow.

Since I’m recuperating, I’ve been re-reading Pullman’s and Lukyanenko’s Trilogies. Hmm, I seemed to be hooked on trilogies at the moment. I think I might purchase Brown’s latest next, The Lost Symbol, just to get the theme going :-).

I’ve been to the surgery yesterday. The swelling has subsided nicely but the muscles haven’t healed yet. I am allowed to start walking again, not power walking, to get my strength back. Sitting and sleeping plus taking strong pain-killers the whole of last week has taken its toll.

It’s already the 3rd. of August. Time flies fast.

August creates as she slumbers, replete and satisfied
