I'd to take the afternoon off cos Bon Jovi's rocking at the Ricoh. The last time he did his gig, it took us 3 hours to reach our casa. This time we were better prepared. The photograph of the traffic was taken at 6pm
Before we left, we decided to check the natives by the university lake. Most of them were having a siesta. And I saw this beautiful pair huddled together. All together now, aah...
We saw a Canadian Goose with its wings in tatters and bloodied. It didn't look distressed but Kevin thought the RSPCA should be informed. He called them and so far they'd called back thrice cos they couldn't find the poor bird. If they call again, Kevin says he will accompany them. It's good to know that the RSPCA takes our concern seriously. And I do hope they found him.
I made tacos and panzella (Italian bread salad) for dinner. Delish. I left the front door opened but could only hear muffled noises from the Ricoh. Previously, we could hear the songs and have our own private gig in the garden. I bet the fans had a rocking time.
Yesterday, I accompanied CC to a pre-auction viewing of prints and paintings at the University House. The works includes subtle water colours, landscapes, colourful abstract prints and small oil paintings donated by the Friends of the Mead.
I saw 2 paintings which I like but we just don't have anywhere to put them. Our casa's rented and we need permission to put a nail in the wall. It's really a pain... CC will be doing some serious bidding at the auction. She owns her casa.
In the evening, we stopped at Morisson (Hollyhead Rd) to let the traffic ease a bit. At the bargain section, I got 2 pots of soup. As we browsed along the shelves, Kevin asked me to check the dates. It was dated 21/06. Huh? That's 2 days overdue. We asked for the manager and voiced our concern. Tesco (Walsgrave) was fined a measly £££ for selling outdated produce. He was very apologetic and wanted to give us some vouchers. We said NO cos we just want them to be more careful.
This is the 2nd time we made a complaint. The 1st was in Asda(Walsgrave). We bought a pack of basmati rice and when we opened it was full of weevils. Eeeww...I feel that as consumers we have the right to complaint. Supermarkets made millions and therefore we are entitled to better products and services. Kevin and I prefer to complaint directly and if they do it again, then we will pass it to the relevant authorities.
Today, at work we were constantly reminded of a hoax mail circulating about. It purports to be from the University requesting users to confirm their e-mail account detail (including password) by following a link to a web page. This is a 'phishing' e-mail and an attempt to capture personal info. Crikey...
I never confirm anything until I'm reminded the 2nd time or someone mentioned it. Better late than be sorry I say...
