We got the freezing tundra winds, already dressed in woolly hats, scarves, coats, thermals and boots, with red noses and frozen earlobes. But that fluffy white bits just didn't turn up. I was so looking forward to the predicted snow falls as in the north but it's not to be. We'd a showery spell on Friday as we made our way home from work. By the time we reached our casa, the snow has melted. Sigh...
At work, my colleague and I hang a bird feeder and fat balls for our feathered friends. After hours over the PC, it was very soothing to look out and watch the antics of the tits, robin, blackbirds, magpies, wood pigeons, wagtails and dunnock. I'm not familiar with the dunnock (Prunella modularis). It was quite hard to take a good photograph because it tends to blend with the vegetation, hopping on the ground.
I took Tuesday off cos Kevin was too sick to drive and I wanted to make sure he's ok. Guess, I really need to start my driving lessons again. But, when I see driving instructors with their learners on the road, driving in front of me, I've second thoughts. Are they really qualified??? Maybe, I'll take the intensive course. Maybe...Thanks to CC for giving me a lift home on Monday.
We didn't do much at the weekend. I continued with my latest hobby and made a few more cards. I'm targeting 2-3 cards per week. They are photographed as samples before I sent them off. I'm proud of my designs/handiwork although Kevin says some of them are lop-sided. I guess that add to the charm :-) We'd spent a fortune on all sorts of gadgets, ribbons, glitter, stickers, embossers etc. Everytime we went shopping, we headed straight to the craft section. We're hooked...
I also bought a few shrubs for the garden. They are still in their packages because the ground is either too wet or still frozen. I just couldn't wait to plant them. I've already had an idea what the garden will look like. I need to stock more bigger pots and compost. A water butt and compost bin are also in my list. If the snow isn't coming, let the summer begins. Oops, I forgot spring. Anyway, saw 2 daffodil blooms among the bushes in the University grounds. That's a bit wee early.
