Tomorrow is 29th February and what are you single ladies waiting for? C'mmon on. Let's bend on one knee and propose to the guy to make you an honest woman. But as CC says, you've got to catch a guy first :-).
Traditionally, women are allowed to propose marriage in a leap year. It was seen as an unusual event that disturbed the orderly progression of days. So out of the ordinary events like a proposal from a woman is considered ok. This is often termed "The Ladies Privilege". So best of luck.
Did the earth moved for you on Tuesday? I bet to some of us that was the only time the bed shook. On my way to work, we heard on the radio that an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale rocked England. We just looked at each other and shrugged. We didn't feel a thing.
I also checked out the Piazza to find out what was going on for Make Trade Fair Week. A yurt was erected in the centre and there were bands, market stalls, talks and workshops. I spent time browsing, drinking Fairtrade chocolate and swaying to fantastic drumming.
And today they are organising an Anti-Topshop demo in Coventry. I've just realised that I've never bought anything from Topshop either.
There was a blackout in the whole campus and the only place unaffected was the Library. Sheesh. As they say, the Library never close. But, it did affect the computers. So we spent the afternoon spring cleaning our desks, volunteered with the shelving and reading (not our manuals). By 5pm, the ground floor office was empty.
It was also JE's birthday. We all went out to EAT for a meal. I'd the Chef's special : roasted salmon on a fantastic dill sauce with steamed vegs and roast potatoes. Yummy. JE had a hard time saying no cos they kept on topping her glass. Happy birthday JE.
