Whatever you do, wherever you are today, it is your duty to be at the polls. You don’t have to be interested in politics but, if you care about the state of the National Health Service, Higher Education Funding, and climate change, it's your duty to vote.
If you care about fighting crime, immigration, the war in Afghanistan, it's your duty to vote.
If you care about your jobs, social and public services, it's your duty to vote.
Especially, if you're a woman, it's your duty to use that right. Remember, in the UK women only won the right to vote on equal terms with men in 1928.
It's very unlikely that your vote will ever change the result of an election, but your right to vote is not to be given up lightly. Use it or you are going to lose it.
I have exercised my democratic right by posting my ballot papers yesterday.
Polling stations have opened at 7 am this morning and you will be able to cast your ballots until 10pm tonight. Good luck
