Rabbit Rabbit for the First of the Month

Our lovely pets Connie and Puteri (sadly departed)

My colleagues were reminding each other if they had said 'Rabbit, Rabbit' first thing this morning.

Hmmm... never heard that before.

It seems that when they were young, they used to say 'Rabbit, Rabbit' upon waking on the first day of each new month.

It's a common superstition and on doing so you will receive good luck for the whole month.
Guess there's no harm in that.

The exact origin is unknown. It has appeared in print in England as early as 1920, when it is thought to have originated.

It might be related to the belief in the rabbit being lucky, as in the practice of carrying a rabbit's foot for luck.

So Rabbit Rabbit to everyone out there.
