A lazy summer weekend when my strength and energy is being sucked by the heat and humidity. I just felt like doing what man’s best friend do best…just lazing around and doing nothing. Bliss :-)
I harvested more runner beans, blanched them and had it for lunch with grilled beef, gravy and chips. I’ve got another batch for tomorrow and I might freeze them. Also picked blueberries for dessert and tomatoes for my lunch box. Nothing better than eating home grown food.
Yesterday, we watched a movie “Inkheart” starring Brendan Fraser. I love the idea that the characters leaping off the page as you read a book. Now which book that I’ve read would I love for the characters to come alive? Hmm…there were too many to choose from.
We later went for an evening stroll
to our favourite playground. It was unusually quiet as the natives started winding down. We went straight to Carlton Hide cos the view here was always breathtaking.
We watched 4 graceful Greenshanks(Tringa nebularia ) rummaging among the mudbanks. Coots were everywhere, too tired to start a fight.
An unlikely pair, a Little Grebe and a Moorhen chick, side by side feeding near the hide. We saw a Hobby flying across the golf course.
And suddenly a splash of blue appeared right in front of the hide. It was this gorgeous Kingfisher trying for his last supper. He flirted from one bush to another, keeping us entertained. What a trooper.
I’m also a little tense at the 
moment. My interview will be on Thursday and it’s really winding me up. LMG made us apply for our jobs back. How unethical is that!!! I’m going to knock their socks off…Wish me luck. I really need it. Thanks Babe for helping me with my personal statements and just for being there. Mwah…
Ramadan might fall on Friday. I do hope it’s a good omen for me. Wishing all Muslims, a wonderful Ramadan. May our hunger and thirst reminds us of those who are suffering. Amen!!!
