Merry Atishoo! Atishoo! We All Fall Down

Does anyone know who is the God of Good Health? And what I need do to get into his/her good books again?

First, there was the headaches, then the sneezes, then the cold-virus-flu thing and sore throats; then came the coughs, the dreaded nighttime variety which wakes everyone up. And now I'm wheezing. My asthma is starting to play up. Oh please, please let it end.

My constant date is with Simple Linctus, paracetamol, lozenges and hot water bottle. I even had to sleep downstairs, on Babe's pull-out chair so that I don't disturb him and that I could sleep upright. I'm just thankful that the winter vomiting bug, norovirus, has not knocked on my door. Touch wood...

The coldest start to the winter for three decades caused flu, respiratory illnesses and norovirus to soar. And the West Midlands was the worst hit. According to infectious diseases consultant Dr Martin Wiselka more people are catching flu this year because it is a different strain. It's the H3 strain this year rather than the H1. Just my luck.

On Xmas eve, we couldn't stand been cooped up in the casa any longer. We needed some fresh air andBrandon Marsh Coventry 24-12-2008 13-41-59 decided to check out the natives at Brandon Marsh dressed as the Michelin man, again.  The robins must be very hungry cos they started pestering me and eating from my hand. They were very territorial too.

Since both of us aren't feeling too good, we decided to split cooking the Xmas dinner in 2 days. We roasted the turkey tonight and on Xmas day itself do the rest. It was perfect timing cos we managed to have our Xmas dinner when TOTP was on and finished when the Queen came on next.

We have been buying tins and boxes of biscuits, chocolates, snacks and sweet since early December.Coventry 25-12-2008 16-50-50 Everytime we did our shopping, we would buy something. And just look at our stash?

After the Christmas Day bells, it was the nation's cash tills that were ringing out on Boxing Day as thousands of people thronged shopping centres for the post-festive sales season. Having seen so many retailers slash their prices trying to get people to spend for  Christmas, I wonder if they would drop prices further?

We checked out the nearby Gallaghers Retail Park. It was very busy. We went into a few shops but nothing catches our fancy. On the drive home, we could see cars queuing to get into the Arena Park. I'm sure it will be heaving there too.

Please check out our new photography site. Babe has been working hard to set it up. Muchas gracias darling.
