Black Friday

Tonight will be the last Friday before Christmas. Emergency services around the country are preparing for one of their busiest nights of the year. Why?  Brandon Marsh Coventry 19-12-2008 13-34-26

This is the time of year when normally mild mannered office workers overindulge at Xmas parties and act totally out of character. It saddened me to think of these people who are looking forward to a night out, but will be in hospital drinking though a straw etc.etc. due to the mindless drunken violence that will ensue on the streets from about 6pm this evening. Although Babe told me he'd seen a drunken driver zigzagging on the road yesterday.

I phoned in sick today and this week I've been off for 3 days altogether. I've been coughing, sneezing and my head feels like there's a very lively woodpecker living in it. Last night, the coughing kept me awake all night.

Spent the day trying to catch up sleep on the sofa and watching the UK Championship snooker. Brandon Marsh Coventry 19-12-2008 13-15-25Since it was a nice day, Babe went to Brandon Marsh to get some fresh air and came home with these lovely photographs.  I also made parsnip soup for lunch/dinner cos my taste buds had gone AWOL.

Yesterday, feeling a bit better, I went to work. Anyway, its the office Xmas lunch at Radcliffe House. I was dressed in a traditional Malay costume called 'Baju Kurung' which belonged to my Mum. I always take the opportunity to wear a traditional costume to gatherings and functions for a change.

I was still coughing and sneezing. I took the piss out of my colleagues by telling them that I'm spreading my goodwill and cheer to everyone :-).  The lunch buffet was fantastic. I enjoyed the starters, antipasti and hot/cold salad bars more that I'd a second helping. I only had the fish pie with roasted vegs and potato dauphinoise. Finished with a lemon mousse. Delicious.

Have you seen Mummy 3 or known as The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor? We know it's going to be one of those films when we started multi-tasking and not concentrating solely on the film. I wished Rachel Weisz was in but I guess she'd made a very wise decision when she saw the script.

But I learnt something. The Terracotta warriors was discovered by an Englishman and they were mummified and the best way to solve any disputes is by shooting!!!Brandon Marsh Coventry 19-12-2008 12-24-11 Just no Mummy 4 please...
