We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday. Gulp!!! It's been that long.
The traditional gift was suppose to be either tin or aluminium. The pliability of tin and aluminium is a symbol of how a successful marriage needs to be flexible and durable and how it can be bent without being broken. Luckily for me, Kevin's a contemporary husband and gave me a gold bracelet plus other earlier pressies. Thank you darling for loving me and for making so many dreams come true.
Our life together was truly a rollercoaster, for reasons of health, but we sailed through the good and bad times. I'm thankful that you supported and took care of me when I was very ill, encouraged me when I was struggling with my studies and held me when I was down. When I look back on the years that we've shared, I'm soo lucky to have you as my other half. I pray to Allah that we will grow old and grey together. Heck!!! We are already old and grey :)
We had our usual departmental meeting. Apart from the usual work-related topics, there were a few interesting ones. One was that Management is thinking of moving the 'behind the scene' departments, i.e. us, to Leamington Spa. Ever since we challenged and won the Appeal for a higher grade, they feel that we are too big for our boots and needed our wings clipped. The team members are already up in arms and we will fight back. Can't wait...
KS aka 'book fairy' job will be advertised. It's permanent and full-time. I had already told SH that I want it and he gives me his backing. Watch this space. CC and I also had another dinner date with KS at our favourite Chinese restaurant. I headed straight for the seafood : mussels in black bean sauce, buttered and sweet-sour prawns, crabs with chillies, fried squid in tempura, steamed fish plus loads and loads of udon noodles and sushi. We ate, gossip, sang and laughed. It was a memorable evening. We toasted for our future. Do keep in touch KS.
I have lived in the UK for 11 years and had never seen a live hedgehog. The ones that I come across was flat by the roadside. It was my lucky day when LG called to say if I want to release a hedgehog back into the wild. LG is a Mother Earth who looks after all sorts of animals, nurse them and release them when they have recovered. She did once brought a baby sparrow to work and feed it hourly. Sadly, it died.

The hedgehog was hiding under the cabinet when we arrived. It was the sweetest creature I'd ever seen. With a pair of garden gloves, I was able to handle it. LG had a fantastic huge rambling garden. I released the hedgehog and was quite sad to see it go. But I'm glad to have seen it. We'd tea inside the summer house when it rained. Thank you again Mr and Mrs G.
I also want to wish my eldest nephew Eriq a Very Happy 19th birthday. Have a great one.
