No smoking please, we're British

Knowle Public Library

1st July was officially no smoking in public places. What a relief!!! And the best chat up line to pull in pubs/bars “do you have a lighter” is now désuet.

CC got the keys to her new casa. I took photographs of her and casa for her parents in Canada. It was hilarious cos it was pouring outside and inside was empty, sans furniture. Looking forward to the house-warming party coming soon.

I've joined a new dancexercise class during lunch break. Playing badminton in summer is a bit too energetic for me. I will resume playing in autumn when it's much cooler. The instructor, N, is from Israel. I'd never met anyone from Israel before.
Touchwood

I took a day off work. We went to Touchwood in Solihull. It has John Lewis only West Midlands store and it had a sale on. None of the items on sale caught our eyes but we did purchased a few pricy bric-a-brac.

Touchwood offers contemporary retail stores within the tradition of English arcades. Three unique arcades are designed as an extension of Solihull's existing high street, and were modelled on the famous arcades of London such as Piccadilly and Burlington Arcade.
Kevin got his latest toy from Jessops, a new external flash gun for his Nikon DSLR, and I got some sexy lingerie from La Senza. Ha!!! Les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas.

On the way home, we drove through Knowle and saw this beautiful building. It's called Chester House and it dates back to Tudor times. The public library is housed in here. A very good excuse to drop in on our next rendezvous.
UK largest casino is officially opened at the Ricoh Arena. Football, gambling and rock concerts in my backyard. Interesting huh? Yet snooty residents around Memorial Park are up-in-arms cos the well-known annual 4 days Godiva Festival (sort of a very down-scale Glastonbury) will be on in Mid-July over there. And they wanted it moved to the Ricoh. Excusez-moi!!!
2 years on of the 7/7 London bombings and now the recent activities in London and Glasgow really p....d us off. What's wrong with these people???
Finally I have been learning new languages in work, as can be seen in this blog I am keen to experiment.
