Spring is about to Spring

Wild Daffodils at Brandon Marsh

Blogging was on pause mode but life goes on. A lot of things and rants had crossed my path.
Dydd Hapus Dewi Sant to the Welsh in honour of Dewi Sant or St. David (AD487-589), the patron saint of Wales. His mother was Non. The lovely little village that we lived in Wales was called Llanon, the Church of St. Non.

We thought it was safe to pay homage to Stratford -upon-Avon before the tourists returned. We were wrong. It was heaving.
A market town dating back to medieval times, Stratford is today most famous as the birthplace of the Elizabethan playwright, William Shakespeare.
I had an appointment at the new University 'super' hospital. One of the biggest hospital complexes in the UK, 5 storeys high and ¼ mile long, it was in the news for the wrong reasons.
The entrance was like a war zone. Visitors and patients on foot had to pass through this. What a health hazard.

Badly posted signs and limited parking. We came early to
get a parking space and this resulted in very expensive parking fee.

We waited at the ward. On the door was sign-posted “Staff entering and leaving needs to wash their hands” beside a bottle of handwash. It was a very busy ward and for half an hour no one did. Two porters came in and only one washed his hands. They came out ferrying a patient.

My husband reminded me to make sure the nurse washed her hands. Luckily, she used disposable gloves. She told us that if we came yesterday, the hospital entrance was flooded!!!
When we left, the parking attendants were so miserable that we wonder if visitors (and patients) couldn't wait to leave. Until my next appointment...

At Brandon Marsh Open Day, was my first encounter with a live badger and fox. I had only seen them flat by the roadside. It was very strange to see these wild animals close-up.
Birthday greetings to my sister, Aida, my Mum, my nieces, Siobhan and Zetty and also to moi. Another year older and hopefully, wiser.

We went down to visit the tribe in Pembroke, Wales. A beautiful day which made the 5 hours drive with Benzy pleasant. The first thing was a hug from Connie, which has grown into a lovely lion-maned rabbit.
We'd a lovely time watching a movie and Holly larking around with a red nose for Red Nose Day.
Drove up to our old playground, Aberystwyth. It was nice to be back and catch up with friends. Everything was still the same.

Snow fell on Mothering Sunday. Wishing my Mum in Malaysia and my Mother in law in Pembroke, Happy Mothers' Day and a Very Big Thank You.

We were without telephone since Friday. My husband wanted to set up a broadband connection with BT and they messed up everything. Not happy at all.

Yesterday was the spring equinox. It celebrates the renewed life of Mother Earth that comes with the spring. A solar festival celebrated when the length of the day and the night are equal. And I'm looking forward for my pots of spring bulbs to bloom.
